I guess I’d have to make a concise approach for the explanations, though there are some aspects of conversion that can not be expressed concisely I’ll still however do the best I can to actually express the aspects in question clearly when it comes to this point though.Īnd I guess I wouldn’t mind having any explanatory documentation concerning any vague aspects of VSF as you’ve mentioned such as the application of bump mapping textures to models prior to exportation-but this is a totally different aspect that I’ll disregard for now since it’s not quite pertinent or relevant (yet) in this particular case. As far as the difficulty of writing one is concerned, I guess that depends on the amount of detail that has to be (or is intended to be) implemented and expressed within the guide along with any visual aids such as images that are adherent to the information that is being expressed. Writing a guide that concerns the conversion of Virtual Sailor add-ons to VSF doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all and I agree about the importance of the purpose it serves. Suffice to say I spent plenty of time making these individual adjustments to each of the 30 or so add-ons of theirs just to make sure I have a decent or enjoyable experience of operating them in VSF it was well worth the time I spent though, I’d say. So far I do agree about the slight adjustments of most add-ons in VSF becoming gradually more necessary as more are created, and I guess a good example of that would be Mondo Navi’s multitude of Carnival Cruise Line and Costa Crociere/Cruises cruise ship add-ons (among others) originally made for Virtual Sailor in 2012–2013, for which do require scale adjustments and such other ones to ensure of their own proper functionalities in VSF. And I also agree about Marius’ Ontario and Bellona add-ons for VSF being spectacular in quality and well worth the money spent as well. The Constitution and Victory add-ons for VSF found at AAS’ forums are indeed very good models and of course are also heavily improved versions of their predecessors that have been made years ago for Virtual Sailor. About the L’Aurore add-on, I’ve been hearing that Marius has had a few inquiries about the bug that individuals have been experiencing with her sails in VSF after they’ve purchased the add-on as well evidently you’re having this very same issue and so I do hope that he responds to you concerning the resolution of the issue to ensure your money’s worth for your purchase. Indeed there are several square-rigged sailship add-ons for the simulator as you’ve mentioned, along with steamships and ocean liners that will certainly keep you and I satisfied. I was completely satisfied with my decision, had realized what I’d been missing along with the conveniences VSF offered versus Virtual Sailor, and hadn’t looked back on Virtual Sailor since. I promptly purchased the program myself after doing some quick research and then transferred all of my existing Virtual Sailor files to VSF, and afterwards I happily became engrossed with the application itself and everything it had to offer including the experience that had been waiting for me as well. I was very interested in steamships and especially ocean liners that had already been created for the game as add-ons thus far this is by the time I discovered VSF.
